ANDROID VS IOS

ANDROID VS IOS
Who wins the race?

THE RACE!!
The race between GOOGLE and APPLE is competitive enough and a learning for all those struggles in life over the world. The god of internet GOOGLE has launched its OS – ANDROID which has hit the market and pushed IOS back to very extent. No wonder APPLE is the brand name and you can blindly trust the APPLE products. But off course the brand followers are the rich ones who have the money at their finger tips. Considering the fact that the ratio of the rich to average people are 1: 4 Google the master mind did its job silently and grabbed the market.

android vs apple

* In just 2 years ANDROID store has 350k APPS.
* Hundreds of devices and still more are opting ANDROID as it is not more expensive than those 200k devices used for the same purpose.
* The VOICE RECOGNITION pattern in IOS devices is natural voice encryption but ANDROID has command encryption voice recognition.
* The ICLOUD feature in IOS is remarkably excellent. You have to use equivalent third party software/app for the purpose- (DROPBOX is trying its best to make the same available)
* Google search is limited for ANDROID users. Other search engines like bing, yahoo are not available to them (not at all a big issue).
* ANDROID APP store is vast but not as vast as the APPLE store. Here APPLE wins the race. But in no time Google will take over here also.

So what’s the count folks??

HOW MANY OF YOU HAVE NOT HEARD ANGRY BIRDS?

No doubt the best entertaining source has made remarkable number of users and fans around the world. Its origin also came from ANDROID (huh! +1 for android here too)
IOS has gained reputation from IPHONE 4S which encouraged the people and their demands- for the same reason IPHONE 5 is most awaited after STEVE JOBS death. The pre-booked count for I phone 5 is enormous. Thus the race can be referred as the race between the two most renowned personalities LARRY PAGE and STEVE JOBS.  Moreover IOS has to provide $4.5Google revenue.

You can make your job easier by the voice recognition service. You offer them to call your friend by their name and the job is done. The natural voice recognition is provided by IOS devices not by ANDROID devices (+1 for APPLE)
you can set your alarm, save your files, set the password in just no time – that’s the power of voice control system. Also the Google app inventor helps you to write your own apps which is much convenient. This is not available for other OS.
The developers however prefer to make IOS apps as they have already been stabilized in the market ad will be much difficult for them to switch over. So the new developers have their chances to prove them. The competition is on its rise. According to the developers the ANDROID apps are less complicated and have improved features which take nerves to do so in IOS.
So now the task is yours to decide which is better?

How to Increase battery life of your android phone

The Android phones are probably the most popular electronic devices in the year 2011. Although Android provides nice facilities and entertainment, there are some facts that you need to consider about your android phone. Here are some tips that will help you about the battery life of your android phone. You can get rid of the battery problems by following some simple instructions shown here.
Adjusting the screen
The brighter screen eats more battery. Keep the brightness of your screen at normal level. You can adjust the brightness settings of your device in the Settings > Display > Brightness. Here you will see the check-box for automatic brightness. Just un-check it and apply custom settings for the brightness settings. Set the brightness to normal level so it stops draining more power from your battery.
You can also use the android’s built-in battery screen for reducing the battery usage of your android. Go to Settings > about phone > Battery use. Here you can see the amount of battery used by applications percentage wise. You see, nobody uses all the applications at the same time; all you do is minimizing your apps. So you can smartly choose which apps to use and which one to not.
Turn off wireless services when not in use
The background services for wireless communication are also battery eater. They just have a little work to do but eat lots of battery power. You should close the Bluetooth and WiFi services when there is no use of them. Some people forget to turn the Bluetooth or WiFi off and suffer from the less battery backup time.
Although GPS is good for you to get into anywhere, you don’t use it 24 hours a day, but you keep its background service on. This discharges your battery and reduces your android’s battery life. Turning off GPS and other wireless services would make an effective rise in your android phone’s battery life.
Reducing RSS updates
People usually subscribe to each website’s feeds they take interest in, but never read them all. Do not let your applications to update their feeds automatically. This is because they may use more battery from your android. Some applications need your approval before updating their feeds, and some not. Set the manual mode for update of RSS feeds for the applications.
Use Up-to-date Applications
Keep the latest versions of all applications in your phone. You can also automatically update your applications. Applications developers focus on battery life reduction when developing new versions of their applications. So you should take benefit of latest versions with less battery consumption.
After knowing these tips and tricks, you are now aware of improvement of your android’s battery life. Hope these tips will helpful to you.

How to get Notepad In Send To

Many apply a registry tweak to have notepad as an option for unknown file types. We frequently see such files which are actually just text, but named with some odd file-extension. And then, some suspicious files which we want to make sure what the contents are. Well, in such cases where the registry tweak is applied, the downside happens to be that even some known files get associated with notepad - but no, all we want is to be able to open a file with notepad - the association part in such cases is unwanted interference. Also, notepad becomes a permanent fixture on the right-click menu - which is again an annoyance.

So what we do, is to have notepad as an option in the Send-To options, of the right-click menu in explorer. It fulfils the purpose to perfection (atleast, in my case). Here's what we do:

1. right-click desktop, choose "New >> Shortcut"
2. Type the location of the item - "notepad" - (that's all, no need to give path)
3. Next >> type name for shortcut - "Edit with Notepad"
4. Click finish
5. Now right-click this shortcut on the desktop, and choose properties.
6. Confirm that the "target" and "start in" fields are using variables - "%windir%\system32\notepad.exe" - (absolute paths will be problematic if you use this .LNK on machines other than your own)
7. Now, browse to "%UserProfile%\SendTo" in explorer (which means "C:\Documents and Settings\User_Name\SendTo\" folder)
8. And copy the "Edit with Notepad.lnk" file which you already created, to that folder.
9. So now, you can right-click on ANY file-type, and be offered an option to open with notepad, from the SendTo sub-menu.

So now, you just right-click on an .nfo or .eml or .diz file (which are associated with other programs, and are sometimes just plain-text files), and choose "Send To >> Edit with Notepad" and it will open in notepad!
No more botheration of applying registry tweaks for something as simple as this.

Keep track of your Computer running time

[FOR WINDOWS]

We all are always unsatisfied with the time we give to our computer.5-6 hours while running computer seems like just 1 hour when we shut down it & get up.
Why is it so? Are we addicted to it? Or there is a problem in our watch?
LOL...It is not like that..
80% of the things we do on net is of no use to us- says a recent survey by a US university.
So we keep a track on running computer by installing a software & installing a software needs more RAM to be used which means more busy our system gets.
Today, am giving a trick on how to check the time we have spend on our computer without installing any additional software in our computer.

Here's how you can verify your system uptime:

  1. Click Start
  2. Open RUN by searching for programs and files.
  3. In run , type 'cmd' to open a command prompt.
  4. At the prompt, type 'systeminfo'

Now scroll down the list of information till you get the line that says 'System Up Time'.

This will tell you in days, hours, minutes and seconds how long the system has been up.
NOTE- Do not act over-smart by directly opening 'systeminfo' in run dialog box, the windows will get open, nut will get vanished before you start reading the first word of your system's information. :D

This can be used in Windows XP also but there you get the command prompt or run directly in the 'ALL PROGRAMS' section in the start menu.

Hope it helped you...Got any suggestions? Write them in comments.

Google's way of making April FOOL

Hahaha! Google just made the world April Fool!

See how?

"A Different Kind of Fiber

Google Fiber starts with 100 times more fiber than any source of fiber available today. Tested in labs across our Mountain View campus, we found that in just the right synthesis, psyllium and vitamins C and D morph into a byproduct we have coded as Fiberlicious. This smarter fiber delivers just what the body needs to sustain activity, energy and productivity up to 100 times more than you have experienced before."
-says Google

LOL ! This is the official link of Google Fiber-

Choosing A Good Domain Name

Choosing a domain name for your site is one of the most important steps towards creating the perfect internet presence. If you run an on-line business, picking a name that will be marketable and achieve success in search engine placement is paramount. Many factors must be considered when choosing a good domain name. This article summarizes all the different things to consider before making that final registration step!

1. Short and Sweet

Domain names can be really long or really short (1 - 67 characters). In general, it is far better to choose a domain name that is short in length. The shorter your domain name, the easier it will be for people remember. Remembering a domain name is very important from a marketability perspective. As visitors reach your site and enjoy using it, they will likely tell people about it. And those people may tell others, etc. As with any business, word of mouth is the most powerful marketing tool to drive traffic to your site (and it's free too!). If your site is long and difficult to pronounce, people will not remember the name of the site and unless they bookmark the link, they may never return.

2. Consider Alternatives

Unless a visitor reaches your site through a bookmark or a link from another site, they have typed in your domain name. Most people on the internet are terrible typists and misspell words constantly. If your domain name is easy to misspell, you should think about alternate domain names to purchase. For example, if your site will be called "MacinsTools.com", you should also consider buying "MacinTools.com" and "MacinTool.com". You should also secure the different top level domain names besides the one you will use for marketing purposes ("MacinsTools.net", "MacinsTools.org", etc.) You should also check to see if there are existing sites based on the misspelled version of the domain name you are considering. "MacinsTools.com" may be available, but "MacinTool.com" may be home to a graphic pornography site. You would hate for a visitor to walk away thinking you were hosting something they did not expect.

3. Hyphens: Your Friend and Enemy

Domain name availability has become more and more scant over the years. Many single word domain names have been scooped up which it makes it more and more difficult to find a domain name that you like and is available. When selecting a domain name, you have the option of including hyphens as part of the name. Hyphens help because it allows you to clearly separate multiple words in a domain name, making it less likely that a person will accidentally misspell the name. For example, people are more likely to misspell "domainnamecenter.com" than they are "domain-name-center.com". Having words crunched together makes it hard on the eyes, increasing the likelihood of a misspelling. On the other hand, hyphens make your domain name longer. The longer the domain name, the easier it is for people to forget it altogether. Also, if someone recommends a site to someone else, they may forget to mention that each word in the domain name is separated by a hyphen. If do you choose to leverage hyphens, limit the number of words between the hyphens to three. Another advantage to using hyphens is that search engines are able to pick up each unique word in the domain name as key words, thus helping to make your site more visible in search engine results.

4. Dot What?

There are many top level domain names available today including .com, .net, .org, and .biz. In most cases, the more unusual the top level domain, the more available domain names are available. However, the .com top level domain is far and away the most commonly used domain on the internet, driven by the fact that it was the first domain extension put to use commercially and has received incredible media attention. If you cannot lay your hands on a .com domain name, look for a .net domain name, which is the second most commercially popular domain name extension.

5. Long Arm of the Law

Be very careful not to register domain names that include trademarked names. Although internet domain name law disputes are tricky and have few cases in existence, the risk of a legal battle is not a risk worth taking. Even if you believe your domain name is untouchable by a business that has trademarked a name, do not take the chance: the cost of litigation is extremely high and unless you have deep pockets you will not likely have the resources to defend yourself in a court of law. Even stay away from domain names in which part of the name is trademarked: the risks are the same.

6. Search Engines and Directories

All search engines and directories are different. Each has a unique process for being part of the results or directory listing and each has a different way of sorting and listing domain names. Search engines and directories are the most important on-line marketing channel, so consider how your domain name choice affects site placement before you register the domain. Most directories simply list links to home pages in alphabetical order. If possible, choose a domain name with a letter of the alphabet near the beginning ("a" or "b"). For example, "aardvark-pest-control.com" will come way above "joes-pest-control.com". However, check the directories before you choose a domain name. You may find that the directories you would like be in are already cluttered with domain names beginning with the letter "a". Search engines scan websites and sort results based on key words. Key words are words that a person visiting a search engine actually search on. Having key words as part of your domain name can help you get better results.

Hope you find this useful!
Any suggestions/questions?
